Melissa & Doug Farm Animals Puzzles in a Box is a set of four twelve piece jigsaws in a sturdy wooden box.  Each puzzle has its own compartment.  Each jigsaw features a different, colourful farm animal.  Each puzzle is shape-coded on the reverse of the pieces for easy sorting. 

Activities to play with your child :

1.  Look at the pictures of the puzzles on the outside of the box.  Ask the child to tell you the theme of the puzzle set.

2.  Remove the pieces from one puzzle and ask the child to count each piece out loud.  Add additional puzzle pieces until the child can count all of the pieces in the box.

3.  Ask the child to tell a story based on the picture.

4.  Select three or four pieces from one puzzle, and ask the child to identify from which puzzle the pieces came.

5.  Mix up all of the puzzle pieces.  Ask the child to sort the pieces into four piles by looking at the shapes printed on the backs of the pieces.
